About this notice

This notice explains how Derra LLC handles information for the invitation-only Derra private beta. Derra lets testers build a travel Passport, share and compare it through friendship features, and plan personal and shared Trips.

Information Derra handles

  • Account and authentication information: your email address, account identifier, authentication information processed through Supabase Auth, and information needed to keep you signed in.
  • Profile information: your username and display name, plus an optional bio, home state, avatar and cover photos.
  • Passport collections and private history: the U.S. States and U.S. National Parks you choose to collect, and any visit timing you explicitly record.
  • Trips: trip names, dates, destinations, itineraries, notes, traveler rosters, invitations and access decisions, budgets, expenses, refunds, individual shares and settlement suggestions you save.
  • Friendships: friend requests, accepted friendships, and the accounts involved.
  • Essential cookies: authentication and session cookies used to sign you in, maintain your session, and protect account access.

A home state and travel history describe places you choose to share with Derra. They are not GPS or device-location readings, and Derra does not request access to your device location.

How information is used

Derra uses this information to authenticate accounts, create and maintain Passports, save travel history, provide friend discovery and friendship features, compare travel histories, plan Trips and manage invitations and shared financial records, respond to support requests, and operate and improve the private beta.

What other testers can see

An authenticated tester who searches for your exact username can find your username, display name, and account identity for the purpose of sending a friend request. You may optionally allow authenticated testers to find that same minimal identity by typing the beginning of your username. Private profiles remain available only through an exact username search. Once you accept a friendship, that friend can see permitted profile information and distinct State and U.S. National Park collection membership. Passport visit timing and history, and your Adventures, remain private to you.

Invited testers who accept Trip access can view the shared itinerary and shared financial records permitted by that access. Private rosters, notes, estimates and private expenses are not shared through read-only Trip access. You can also choose to export Trip images and share them outside Derra; the recipients and services you choose may retain those copies.

Information not currently collected

Through the current application, Derra does not intentionally collect GPS or device location, payment-card or bank-account details, advertising data, or product analytics or tracking data. Derra stores the photos you choose to upload. Trip financial records support planning and settlement suggestions; Derra does not process payments.

Service providers

Derra uses service providers, including Supabase and its production hosting and email infrastructure, to process information as needed to authenticate users, store application data, deliver email, host the application, and operate the service.

Retention and your choices

Derra keeps information while it is reasonably needed to provide and operate the private beta, maintain your account, address support or security issues, and meet applicable obligations. Retention may vary depending on the information and why it is needed. Shared Trip financial history may need to be retained to preserve other participants’ records.

You can edit profile information and remove certain travel and friendship records in the application. To ask about your information or request access to or deletion of your account and associated data, email support@derra.app from the email address associated with your account. Account deletion is not currently available as a completed self-service feature. Derra may need to verify the request and may retain limited information where reasonably necessary.
